Community Development Fund
As a result of the success of the Phoenix IDA’s core services and programs, it established the Community Development Fund to reinvest in community programs to benefit and support the city of Phoenix and its residents.
The Fund’s focus areas include education, health innovation, community/economic development, and affordable housing.
From 2015 through 2017, the Phoenix IDA invested nearly $3 million, primarily from proceeds of non-Arizona bond transactions, to dozens of Phoenix nonprofit organizations through the Community Development Fund.
Details about the Community Development Fund’s awards for the past three years are available online:
The Phoenix IDA considers each funding request on a case-by-case basis. Most Community Development Fund awards are decided through a competitive application process administered by the Arizona Community Foundation.
Current funding cycle status: Cycle One of the Phoenix IDA's 2018 Community Development Fund grant generated an amazing response. Thank you to the nearly 80 nonprofit organizations that responded to the request for Letters of Interest. Together with the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF), a review panel evaluated all the Letters of Interest and had to make difficult decisions. Organizations receiving grants for Cycle One were notified in September 2018.
Cycle Two is now open. Letters of Interest are due by November 5, 2018, 5 p.m.
For grant guidelines and/or to submit a Letter of Interest online, please login into ACF's Online Grant Portal and visit the Upcoming and Currently Open Grant Cycles page.
