New Board President Fosters Impactful Community Solutions

Meet Tina Marie Tentori, Executive Director of the Arizona Public Service Company (APS) Foundation and Director of Community Affairs for APS

Tina Marie Tentori, a high-level executive with the Arizona Public Service Company (APS), has been a dedicated member of the Phoenix IDA Board of Directors since she was first appointed in 2019. This year, she takes the reigns as president. Her tenure has been marked by her passion for impactful community solutions and fostering collaborations that address some of Phoenix’s most pressing challenges.

Meeting Critical Needs

Tentori finds great fulfillment in her role, praising the Phoenix IDA’s innovative and community-focused approach to issues such as affordable housing. “I love how in tune the organization is with the needs of Phoenicians and the creativity they use in addressing some of the city’s most pressing challenges,” she shares.

One of the projects Tentori is particularly proud of is the Phoenix IDA’s work on affordable housing solutions, including a special project known as the Mobile Home Park Closure Emergency Support. In 2023, the Phoenix IDA helped approximately 400 residents in 130 households at three different Phoenix-based mobile home parks to successfully relocate, remain housed and avoid homelessness. APS partnered with the Phoenix IDA on this community-focused initiative and provided funding for vital resident services.

The Phoenix IDA’s ability to build strong partnerships and drive progress in critical areas – such as affordable housing, healthcare and education – is something she wishes more people recognized. “The Phoenix IDA is embedded in the community, and focused on building relationships and giving a voice to the most vulnerable.”

Synergy Between Roles

Tentori’s role as Director of Community Affairs at APS, where she has worked for over 14 years, complements her new leadership position. Both roles require her to address community pain points, such as housing and homelessness, and foster collaboration among corporations, nonprofits and government entities. APS’s focus on sustainability, education, and small business support aligns seamlessly with the Phoenix IDA’s mission, enabling Tentori to bring valuable insights and synergies to the board.

Outside of her professional life, Tentori enjoys traveling, hiking, spending time outdoors with her Labradoodle, and giving back to her community. An Arizona resident since 1996, she has volunteered and served on the boards of organizations like Boys & Girls Club of the Valley, Make-a-Wish Arizona and the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Her lifelong passion for children, arts, education and economic development continues to shape her vision as she steps into her role as board president of the Phoenix IDA this year.
