PHOENIX (August 9, 2011) – Beginning Wednesday, August 17, 2011, The Industrial Development Authority of the City of Phoenix, Arizona (“Phoenix IDA”) will accept applications from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that would like to receive financial support for programs that benefit City of Phoenix residents. Applications must fall into one of the following eligible categories: 1) Economic Development, or 2) Education – Grades PK-12.

This new opportunity to support nonprofit agencies is the result of the creation of the Phoenix IDA’s Community Investment Fund (“CIF”). As of August 2011, the CIF has $50,000 available to support community projects. Funding proposals may be submitted in the range of $5,000 to $25,000. Awards will be made following a competitive evaluation process.

The Phoenix IDA will post guidelines, instructions, and an application form on its website. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. (MST) Wednesday, September 14, 2011.
