Community Investment Fund Awards Grants To Organizations Providing Phoenix Based Education and Employment Services

PHOENIX (December 7, 2011) – The Phoenix Industrial Development Authority (“Phoenix IDA”) announced today grant awards totaling $80,000 to nonprofit organizations providing community based services throughout the city of Phoenix. Awarded under the Phoenix IDA Community Investment Fund, the grants aim to assist organizations fostering citywide education and employment services.

“The Phoenix IDA is proud to support organizations dedicated to providing quality education and employment services to Phoenix residents,” said Juan Salgado, Phoenix IDA Executive Director. “The organizations play an extremely important role in our local economy, and the Phoenix IDA is committed to ensuring they receive the resources necessary to continue serving our community.”

Established in 2011, the Community Investment Fund is supported by bond issuance fees received from out-of-state projects. Organizations receiving support from the grants include Academia del Pueblo Charter School, ACCION, Arizona Centers for Comprehensive Education and Life Skills (“ACCEL”), Be A Leader Foundation, Homeward Bound, Teach for America (Phoenix Chapter), and Teleos Preparatory Academy.
