Phoenix IDA Recognizes Recently Appointed Officers and New Members

PHOENIX (Feb. 21, 2012) – The Phoenix Industrial Development Authority (Phoenix IDA) has announced the appointment of new officers to its 2012 Board of Directors.

2012 Board officers include:

President, Marian Yim–is currently with the law firm Wong Fujii Carter and focuses her practice on administrative and regulatory law and commercial transactions. Yim earned her undergraduate degree at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and her Juris Doctorate from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, N.Y.

Vice President, Mark Winkleman–is the chief operating officer of ML Manager, LLC, a successor to Mortgages Ltd., which has emerged from bankruptcy, with a goal to return as much money as possible to the hundreds of investors that were affected by those transactions. Winkleman earned his undergraduate degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Kansas and his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School.

Secretary, Sal Rivera–is a partner and shareholder of Rivera Law Group, P.C., an AV rated, full-service litigation and government relations firm. Rivera, who practices in the areas of government relations and tort and commercial litigation, earned his undergraduate degree in history and political science from Arizona State University and his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School.

Treasurer, Bruce Mosby–is president of All About People, Inc., a Phoenix-based full-service staffing and executive recruiting firm. Mosby has successfully managed large, small and start-up franchises, entrepreneurial and rapid growth organizations, and leveraged buyout turnarounds during his career. Mosby earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel and Restaurant Management.

New appointments made by the Mayor and Phoenix City Council to serve a six-year term with the Phoenix IDA include:

Andrei Cherny–president of ACE Strategies and a senior advisor to Burson-Marsteller who provides policy and strategy advice to Fortune 100 corporations, national foundations and elected officials.

Cherny earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his law degree from the University of California Berkeley Law School.

Fred DuVal–president of DuVal and Associates, represents clients in state capitols across the United States. DuVal spent seven years on the senior staff in the Clinton White House and was named White House Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs by President Clinton where he was responsible for the policy relationship between the federal government and the 50 states.

DuVal earned his undergraduate degree from Occidental College and his law degree from the Arizona State University College of Law.

Christa Severns–is the practice development director for Fennemore Craig and serves as part of the firm’s government relations practice. She has 20 years of experience in marketing, communications and public affairs and serves on various boards throughout the community.

Severns earned her undergraduate degree in American studies from Scripps College. In addition to being a marketing executive and board member, she is a mom, community activist and competitive equestrian.
